At AJ’s Jewelry, we believe jewelry should tell a story—and some stories are more meaningful than words can express. One of our most heartfelt custom projects was the creation of a 14K gold initial pendant, designed as a loving tribute to a son who had recently passed away.
The Client’s Vision
Our client wanted to create something deeply personal for his fiancée: a pendant featuring the initial logo drawn by her late son. This meaningful design would forever capture his memory and keep it close to her heart.
To make the pendant even more special, the client requested that it include:
- Her son’s birthstone, garnet – representing his life and spirit.
- Natural diamonds – adding brilliance and elegance to the design.
The goal was to create not just a piece of jewelry, but a lasting memorial infused with love, memory, and beauty.
From Drawing to Jewelry: The Custom Design Process
CAD/CAM Digital Design
The original hand-drawn initial logo was carefully transformed into a CAD (Computer-Aided Design) model. This digital process allowed us to preserve every detail of his artwork while preparing it for jewelry casting. The client was able to see a 3D rendering of the pendant before it was made, ensuring the design perfectly reflected her son’s original creation.
Casting in 14K Gold
Once the design was approved, the pendant was cast in 14K gold. The initial took shape with remarkable accuracy, staying true to the original lines of the drawing.
Adding Garnet & Diamonds
A garnet—her son’s birthstone—was set into the pendant to give it profound personal meaning. Surrounding it, natural diamonds were carefully placed to highlight the design and add timeless sparkle.
Finishing Touches
After polishing and detailing, the pendant became a striking blend of personal memory and fine craftsmanship, ready to be worn as a cherished keepsake.
